Many chemicals can be put both for industrial uses as well as Pharmaceutical uses.
The list keeps on expanding, hence is not included in this paragraph.
Where chemicals are used for pharmaceutical purposes, keeping in mind the health of the public at large, government has prescribed certain registrations and licence under the CDSCO (Central Drug standards Control Organisation)
However, dual use chemicals when imported for industrial use – other than for use in the pharmaceuticals or cosmetic industry are exempted from this registrations and licences.
They need to follow certain procedures to avail this exemptions from CDSCO.
